Looking for something new for a lunch or an early dinner in Carrasco?

Try Camelia...Some of you may have already eaten at Camelia in the Old City or Punta Carretas but for those us here in Carrasco it is a new restaurant.  In the old Itau Bank building just off Arocena, Camelia offers snacks, lunches, dinner, takeaways and indoor/outdoor seating - it is known as a 'health food restaurant'.  Although the concept of 'eco-friendly' is not done well, with every item individually pre-packaged and multiple containers/cutlery issued, the location and setting are nice and relaxed.  The prices are reasonable and comparable with other cafes in this area ($550 pesos for lunch for two which included 2 quiches/tarts, 2 deserts and 2 juices).  The coffee is not good at all, so steer clear of that and grab a yummy juice instead!  I enjoy the vegetable quiches/tarts and the deserts are nice too.  I have returned here and will be doing so again.  Worth a try if you are looking for something a bit different in Montevideo.
